Muskies Inc. has over 5,000 Members and more than 50 independent Local Chapters throughout the country. We have become a national voice of the protection of the Muskie species. Muskies Inc. is widely recognized as the first organized group of anglers to espouse the “Catch and Release” practice now embraced by many conservation minded groups throughout North America. Muskies, Inc. focuses on three critical areas: Youth, Fisheries, And Research.
We provide the chance for people of various fishing abilities the opportunity to join and fish with an organization that is environmentally-conscious, takes great pleasure in muskie fishing and the continued development of the next generation of muskie fisherman – our youth. We are not a fishing club. Although we have members who do tournament fish from time to time, the main purpose of our chapter is the furtherance of our national organization’s core areas of Youth, Fisheries, and Research and, as an insubstantial part of our activities, to allow folks across the area to gather and enjoy muskie fishing. If you are just getting started or wish to
learn more then there is no better way than to come out and join us for an outing or meeting.
We exist to further the purposes of Muskies, Inc. which are to:
- Support selected conservation practices based on scientific merit as carried out by
authorized Federal and state agencies; - Promote muskellunge research, establishment of hatcheries and introduction of the
species into suitable waters; - Support the abatement of water pollution;
- Provide a library facility for scientific and popular muskellunge literature, and to
maintain records of habits, growth and range of the species; and - Disseminate muskellunge information and, as an insubstantial part of our activities,
- Promote a high-quality muskellunge sport fishery.
